Turkey Meal Distribution

ree

Team EC bundled up dozens of turkeys and fixings for many of our clients! This program was made possible via the generous support of Crown Food Marts, and we were proud to provide delicious meals for the holiday season.

Annual In-Service Training

ree

Team EC staff participated in our annual in-service training last week. Our outstanding trainers focused on topics including preventing workplace harassment and using effective de-escalation techniques. Our HR consultant also led us through a fun team-building exercise.

Special thanks to the City of St. Louis Department of Human Services, which deployed several staff members to assist us in accepting and distributing Impacted Tenant Fund applications while we were engaged with our trainers.

Impacted Tenants Fund

ree

Employment Connection has partnered with the City of St. Louis Department of Human Services and the City’s Building Division to launch the Impacted Tenants Fund. This project assists eligible City renters who have been forced from their residences due to condemnation as of January 1st, 2025, including those displaced by the May tornado.

If you or someone you know has been forced to relocate due to storm damage or condemnation, visit the City's website to learn more about the Impacted Tenants Fund.

Green Jobs Graduation

ree

We are so excited by the recent graduation of our largest Green Jobs cohort ever! 17 clients completed the rigorous 8-week program and several of them have already been hired or been accepted into additional green job certification programs!

Volunteers at Employment Connection

ree

We've been beyond grateful to host so many volunteers in November!

Volunteers from the American Constitution Society at Washington University School of Law visited to help prep our walls for painting on the client side, pack away Halloween decorations for next year, organize client files, and sort recently received clothing donations.

ree

Members of Alpha Kappa Psi, a co-ed professional fraternity at WashU, came by to shred paper, organize the huge donation of professional attire from Edward Jones for our Client Closet, and file paperwork for our Senior Services Program.

ree

And 32 volunteers from Equifax joined us over the course of their Big Week of Service to take on various projects at our headquarters. Volunteers conducted mock interviews for over 30 clients participating in our World of Work job readiness training program. They also assisted several departments with file organization, audits, data entry, and more.

Young Friends of EC at Top Golf

ree

Team EC recently hosted a Young Friends of Employment Connection Happy Hour at TopGolf’s Midtown location. The event was a success as guests enjoyed complimentary appetizers and drinks and took some competitive swings at golf balls as part of the fun. Please look for other Team EC networking events in the coming months!

Special thanks to Parkwoods Wealth Partners, LLC, for supporting this event!

Missouri American Water Partnership

ree

Missouri American Water staff members Summer and Megan recently visited Employment Connection's offices to make a special presentation during our annual in-service training session. The American Water Charitable Foundation recently selected Team EC to receive a State Strategic grant to support our wraparound services, including career training and placement, housing assistance, youth and senior services, and mental health counseling.

We appreciate the support of this outstanding community partner and look forward to growing our partnership moving forward!

ree

Sal visited the headquarters of the Edward Jones Company to pick up a massive donation of professional attire from their annual clothing drive in support of our client Clothing Closet!
