Spring Employment Fair

Our Career Services Team, under the leadership of Karla H., hit another home run with our annual Spring Employment Fair! A total of 25 employers engaged an overflow crowd of guests eager to enter the workforce. This event was made possible through the support of the Missouri Department of Social Services, STLARCHS, and the United Way of Greater St. Louis, and stands as another successful outcome of our Breaking Down Barriers program.

Green Jobs Update

Our Spring 2026 Green Jobs cohort has been all over St. Louis to get hands-on training and experience! Thanks to our many partners, including Seed St. Louis, Forest ReLeaf of Missouri, Fresh Starts Community Garden, and New Roots Urban Farm, and Beyond Housing, all of whom provided opportunities for our clients to learn and prepare for careers in the Green Workforce.

Impacted Tenants Fund and Disaster Relief Housing Assistance

Employment Connection, in partnership with the City of St. Louis Department of Human Services and the City’s Building Division, launched the Impacted Tenants Fund in late fall of 2025. As of the end of February 2026, we have approved 141 applicants and disbursed over $191,000.00 for renters displaced from their homes by either the tornado that occurred in May of 2025, and/or because their rental unit was condemned for occupancy by the City’s Building Division.
If you or someone you know has been forced to relocate due to storm damage or condemnation, visit the City's website to learn more about the Impacted Tenants Fund.Â

The Missouri Housing Development Commission has also made disaster recovery funds available to residents of St. Louis City and St. Louis County affected by the May 2025 tornado. Call our office at (314) 333-5627 for more information on accessing assistance. Funds are limited and awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
