Solar Panel Installation Training Program
The summer 2024 cohort for our Solar Panel Installation Training program is well underway in their studies! Having already completed our World of Work job readiness training, they then completed their OSHA-10 certifications, and are now working through additional hands-on technical training. We're excited to see them continue the program and graduate, ready for a career in renewable energy!
WIN Grant for LaSalle Park
Team EC and our partners at the LaSalle Park Neighborhood Association recently secured a Wellness In Neighborhoods (WIN) Grant from the St. Louis MHB! Part of the grant funds will be used to host uplifting community events in the neighborhood, the first of which was the Music on the Mall LaSalle-a-Palooza festival in August. Neighbors came together to enjoy music, share food, and have fun. Employment Connection was proud to co-sponsor this wonderful event.
Meet Our New DOCY Program Manager
We are proud to announce that Team EC member Carlette has been promoted to Manager for the DOCY program. Carlette previously served as a Career Specialist and has deep family ties to the greater Dutchtown community. Congratulations Carlette!

Senior Services Program Resumes
Thanks to the St Louis City Senior Fund and the Community Development Administration, we have restarted our senior services program where we provide free mowing, snow removal, exterior hauling, and minor home repairs for seniors in the City of St. Louis. This program is managed by Team EC member Umi who visited some happy seniors recently as their lawns were just professionally manicured!

EC Out and About
Employment Connection was pleased to co-sponsor the 16th annual Dinner in the Garden at Fresh Starts Community Garden! Sal ran into State Rep. Kimberly Ann-Collins, former EC staffer Calvin Burks, and EC Senior Services client Shirley Everett at the affair.
LaCorsha of our DOCY Team attended Marquette Community Day in Dutchtown! Employment Connection and DOCY were proud to sponsor MCD again this year as hundreds of kids came through Marquette Park for free backpacks, school supplies, haircuts, food, and fun!
ShaDonna from our Career Services team also attended a special Back-To-School event for Clinton Peabody families. Team EC was happy to contribute school supplies for kids along with the sponsors, St. Louis Housing Authority and POAH.
