US Bank Supports Employment Connection’s Solar Training Program

Employment Connection recently received a contribution of $50,000 from US Bank to support our Solar Panel Installation Training Program! The program provides opportunities for St. Louis residents to attain a well-paying career in the developing green jobs workforce.

We thank US Bank for their generous support of our Solar Panel Installation Training program, along with additional sponsors including Ameren Missouri, the City of St. Louis, EFS Energy, the Energy Foundation, the Prufrock Foundation, and Straight Up Solar.

DOCY Program Receives Grant from Dana Brown Charitable Trust

The Dana Brown Charitable Trust has granted Employment Connection $25,000 in support of the new Dutchtown Opportunity Coalition for Youth (DOCY) program. In partnership with Incarnate Word Foundation, Thomas Dunn Learning Center, and Gene Slay’s Girls and Boys Club, the DOCY program targets at-risk South Side youth to engage them in positive educational and recreational activities that will keep them on a path to a bright future.

Edward Jones Clothing Drive

Thanks to the Edward Jones Company for conducting another business attire clothing drive this summer! The new threads will be added to our Clothing Closet so clients can dress for success as they pursue new career opportunities.

New Bikes for Cure Violence

Our Cure Violence Teams in Dutchtown and Wells-Goodfellow/Hamilton Heights now have bikes to assist them in their crime prevention work! The new wheels will allow our interrupters and outreach workers to stay close to the streets as they continue their involvement in violence reduction and community building.

New Violence Prevention Site

Employment Connection has been selected to launch a new Violence Prevention Site to serve the Peabody-Darst-Webbe and LaSalle Park neighborhoods. This new site will be located at the Al Chappelle Community Center, which is owned by our community partner, the St. Louis Housing Authority. Special thanks to Mayor Tishaura Jones and her team for their continued support of our agency and mission.
