Employment Connection is celebrating Women’s History Month this March by honoring local leaders in the St. Louis region. Today we recognize Tracy Verner, Community Development Manager at Alltru Credit Union.
As the Community Development Manager for Alltru Credit Union, Tracy has made history by developing groundbreaking programs never before seen in banking! Tracy manages strategic initiatives and community partnerships that help break down barriers to banking due to divestment, segregation and poverty.
She and her team have worked tirelessly to give everyone a safe way to bank and borrow money. They have provided free bank accounts and education to thousands of youths upon starting their first job, supported hundreds of people in recidivism and transitional programs, and allowed nearly 20,000 St. Louis City School Children to save money for their college education as part of the College Kids Program.
Tracy's passion for empowering underserved populations in our region comes from her own childhood experiences growing up in low-income neighborhoods in St. Louis City and her personal experiences as a single mother of four who’s endured and overcome many financial hurdles. Tracy moves quickly and passionately when asked to show up for her community as a political supporter, activist, unhoused advocate, community resource organizer, fundraiser, and small business sponsor. She believes that we are stronger together and is always ready to connect St. Louisans to resources and share some big hugs and encouragement along the way!
