Employment Connection is excited to have been engaged by the Community Development Administration to assist in maximizing local participation on the Choice Neighborhoods Redevelopment at Preservation Square. This over $100,000,000+ initiative will create over 650 housing units in the Carr Square neighborhood and will include the development of a new community center.
Employment Connection's role will be to link local residents and small businesses with new employment and construction-related business opportunities associated with the development.

ReCast | Spring Break Program Recap
At the end of March, Employment Connection hosted a week-long training for 9 high school students from the Wells-Goodfellow/Hamilton Heights, West End and Vandeventer neighborhoods in North St. Louis City. The students participated in a work-readiness class and attended Dr. Alyce Herndon's class on entrepreneurship. Over the course of the week, they learned about what it takes to start and run a business and how to find success in the workplace! The participants also spent time with members of our Cure Violence team in Wells-Goodfellow/Hamilton Heights and will be working with them to plan community events this summer!
Congratulations to our participants who dedicated their spring break to this wonderful opportunity! We are proud of the success of this first cohort and look forward to hosting a second cohort this summer.

Give STL Day is right around the corner! Save the date for this year's annual day of giving. We cannot wait to see the generosity of the St. Louis community. Last year we surpassed our goal by nearly $1,000! We hope you will join us in giving back to the community.
