Andrea Jackson-Jennings of the COVID-19 Regional Response Team

Employment Connection is celebrating Women’s History Month this March by honoring local leaders in the St. Louis region. Today we recognize Andrea Jackson-Jennings, Managing Director of the COVID-19 Regional Response Team.

Andrea Jackson-Jennings has been the Managing Director of the COVID-19 Regional Response Team since September 2021. She was appointed as Director for St. Louis County Department of Human Services in December 2011, managing a $13 million operating budget of eight divisions that provide quality programs and services to enrich the lives of St. Louis County residents.


Before joining St. Louis County, Jackson-Jennings was Associate Director of Student Financial Aid at the University of Missouri- St. Louis. One of her most rewarding responsibilities included providing scholarship opportunities to deserving students.


Jackson-Jennings is a proud graduate of Normandy High School and has supported several district initiatives over the years. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Education, Master of Education from the University of Missouri-St. Louis and is currently pursuing a doctorate.


Jackson-Jennings serves on the United Way's 211 Advisory Board, UMSL Alumni Association, Behavioral Health Network, Saint Louis Crisis Nursery Advisory Board, and North County Churches United for Racial Harmony. Jackson-Jennings has also served as a mentor for Girls Holla Back, a faith-based mentoring HIV/AIDS and substance abuse prevention program. She is a PROUD member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, St. Louis Metropolitan Alumnae Chapter, where she has served on various committees and mentored young ladies.


Jackson-Jennings is married and has been a member of New Sunny Mount Missionary Baptist Church for thirty-five years and serves on the Usher Board and Greeter’s Ministry.
