month. Thanks to
Connections to Success, U.S. Probation, Correctional Medical Services, and the
State of Missouri for making this possible. The
release of the
PSA should support the funding that will be coming to the area for employment of
ex-offenders. Thanks to Employment Connection for funding $250 of the
cost.

Employment Connection is proud to announce that we have been awarded a portion of the 2004 Supportive Housing Program in collaboration with Salvation Army Stratford Commons and Women's Domestic Violence Response. Employment Connection's responsibilities will be to work with the families in their homes to evaluate their needs, assess progress, make service referrals, and provide support and direction as the families live and function in the community. In addition, families will be evaluated for their education and employment readiness with services provided by Employment Connection, with job retention a strong component to the services. The total award by St. Louis County for this project was $1,982,705, with Employment Connection receiving 1,051,373 of this reward.

Employment Connection, in partnership
with the Center for Women in Transition, has been awarded a grant by the State
of Missouri to serve prisoners who have been released through a variety of case
management supports including but not limited to employment services. This
program will be called Project ReConnect. Under the program, EC will be
the exclusive provider of employment services to all clients who fall under this
grant.

Employment Connection has been awarded a
JOLI grant that we applied for. The
grant is a total of $500,000 over three years. We'll get $50,000 a year for
three years for a total of $150,000. The goal of the grant is to work with
a small number of CAP clients to help them start their own businesses in some
cases home based businesses. We'll be responsible for case management.
